Guide for best practices to implement and maintain a successful RTI program
“Complete, clear and specific guidance must be geared to match the intensity of suggested interventions to that of the specific needs of the individual student.”
Response to Intervention (RTI) is a best practices tiered prevention model designed to address learning and behavioral difficulties. By providing early intervention for struggling students, its intent is to reduce the need to label children as disabled. Research indicates that the number of students with reading problems alone could be reduced by up to 70% through early identification and prevention programs. Properly implemented, a data based schoolwide RTI process can maximize student performance while greatly reducing the need for special education services.
RTI Workshop is designed to provide guidance to practitioners and policymakers to help struggling students become successful. Reproducible tools and resource guides are designed to assist with each step of the RTI process.
